Implementation of communist ideology in schools was effected under supervision of Communist Party Committees, in particular, of the Regional Department of Education of Izmail Regional Ukrainian Communist Party Committee, municipal and local school committees. The work reveals functions of municipal and school Communist Party Committees, reformations in educations occurred during sovietization processes in the region. Essential trends, forms and methods of ideological influence upon parties involved into education process are reviewed. The author gave particular examples of ideological work done by teachers at lessons of liberal arts and sciences. Other methods of bringing up communist outlook, such as out-of-class and out-of school activities and visual propaganda are reviewed. It is identified that pupils were imposed not only communist ideology, but also personal cult of a paramount leader, love to Soviet power, emphasized attention to significance of Russian language and culture. The work reviews also a part played by pioneers and young communists league organizations in the ideological work with pupils. Methods and forms of ideological work with teachers and their involvement to participation in political activities are studied. Particular attention is paid to problems arising in the course of secondary education ideologization in the region. ER -
