The ideas of the Western European methodologists of historical science perceived and developed by domestic scholars were shown on concrete examples. Most researchers of the historical past used the achievements of Western European scientists. They made their own adjustments to the source study methodology. The author paid special attention to the published works of PM Ardsheva, P.Volubovsky, V.Yu. Danilevich, V.I. Veretennikov, O.G. Brikner, I. A. Lynnychenko, V.K. Piskorsky, M M. Berezhkov, archival sources are important for the study of the scientific heritage of historians, namely, their handwritten lectures and drafts of articles. A comprehensive analysis of those scientific works of the underRussian Ukrainian source scholars was conducted in this work, where it is better to refute quotations, comments, new ideas of works mainly of English, German and French authors. Part of the innovations of that time historians of the under-Russian Ukraine is borrowed from the works of the Western European researchers. In particular, the works of the German methodologist E. Bernheim “Introduction to Historical Science”, the French professor A.F. Tardif “Fundamentals of Historical Criticism” and others, were widely echoed, reprinted and translated.One of the merits of scientists before domestic science is not only the introduction of new methods of working with historical sources into the scientific circulation, but, first of all, a significant contribution to the problem development of the methodology of historical sources.</p&gt;}, number={49}, journal={Zaporizhzhia Historical Review}, author={Kitichenko , T.}, year={2017}, month={Dec.}, pages={237-242} }
