Abstract

In the article analyzes the foreign policy issues in the process of ratification of the U. S. Constitution of 1787 in Connecticut. Reveals the discussion between the Federalists – “The People”, “A Farmer”, “Connecticutensis”, “A Citizen of New Haven”, “A Landholder” – and anti-Federalists – E. Gerry, J. Mason, “An Officer of the Late Continental Army”, “An Old Whig”, “The People”, “Centinel”, “A Federal Farmer” – in periodicals State; discusses and identifies particular discussion topic at the convention, 3-9 January 1788, revealed the consequences of ratification for socio-political development of Connecticut and the United States during the first elections to the federal authorities.
