Abstract

The article presents the systematic and profound work on urban development which was carried out in two main directions. The first was the foundation of new socialistic cities and worker’s settlements due to the building of big heavy industry factories; the second one was the reconstruction and further development of old industrial centers and big cities historically founded. Discussions on the main directions of urban development of SouthEastern Ukraine in 1920-30th that resemble one another are studied in the article. In 1930 in Ukraine adherents of three main directions of urban development already existed: centralists, linealists and looses, which are emphasized in the article.
