Membership of Spain in the United Nations (1955-2015)

Abstract
The article deal with a condition of Spain’s joining ONU. The country has been an active member of the United Nations since the 14th of December, 1955. Spain was elected to the Security Council four times (1969-70, 1980- 1981, 1993-1994 and 2003-2004) and has participated in numerous peacekeeping missions by providing peacekeeping troops, humanitarian aid to countries including Afghanistan, East Timor, Lebanon, Kosovo and Haiti. The United Nations General Assembly elected parliamentary monarchy to serve as non-permanent members of the Security Council for two-year terms starting from 1 January 2015 until 31 December 2016.
