Migration policy of Portugal before and after joining the EU: emigration and immigration flows (1974th-2001th)

The article examines political changes in Portugal in the context of migration processes in the 80th, 90th, and 2000th, the main immigration inflows and changes in the Portuguese immigration policy with regard to its accession to the European Union. It is considering the models of political behaviour of major European countries to migrants in view of their integration to the host country. The article also draws attention to the evolution of institutional and legislative tools of work with immigrants in the Portuguese society.
